LIQUOR TRADERS LICENSING ASSOCIATION
The Liquor Traders Licensing Association (LTLA) is an association which looks after the interests of all liquor licence holders. Membership of LiquorWise qualifies a licence holder for membership of the LTLA. The association was created for the following main reasons:
- The greatest number of liquor licence holders do not have representation as a group of business persons with similar interests;
- Licence holders act and react on an individual basis when it would most often be advantageous to act or react as a group with similar interests;
- National Legislation requires membershipof an association before a Distribution Licence will be issued. This association must prescribe to certain goals and milestones and involves the following, eg.
- BEE compliance (most licence holders are exempt)
- Prevention and treatment of alcoholism
- Prevention and treatment of pre-natal alcohol syndrome;
- Members are kept up to date with changes in policy, guidelines and legislation, which isn't done by the majority of advisors
Membership is free, subject to a member being the holder of a valid liquor licence.
