LIQUOR TRADERS LICENSING ASSOCIATION

The Liquor Traders Licensing Association (LTLA) is an association which looks after the interests of all liquor licence holders. Membership of LiquorWise qualifies a licence holder for membership of the LTLA. The association was created for the following main reasons:

1. The greatest number of liquor licence holders do not have representation as a group of business persons with similar interests;
2. Licence holders act and react on an individual basis when it would most often be advantageous to act or react as a group with similar interests;
3. National Legislation requires membershipof an association before a Distribution Licence will be issued.  This association must prescribe to certain goals and milestones and involves the following, eg.
   1. BEE compliance (most licence holders are exempt)
   2. Prevention and treatment of alcoholism
   3. Prevention and treatment of pre-natal alcohol syndrome;
4. Members are kept up to date with changes in policy, guidelines and legislation, which isn't done by the majority of advisors

Membership is free, subject to a member being the holder of a valid liquor licence.
